"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning.
But for children, playing is serious learning."
Preschool classes are available Monday - Thursday from 8:00am to 12:00pm. Kindergartners meet 8:00am to 1:00 pm. Depending on the program and availability, you can choose to enroll two or four days a week. We provide a nutritious, real-food snack and your child will pack a lunch to eat with friends!
2 after June 1st
Our Acorn class accommodates little ones turning 2 after June 1st. Our smallest learners will receive a gentle introduction to traditional preschool activities, scaled down and appropriate for toddlers. Daily activities include free exploration of learning centers, art, music, outdoor play, snack and lunch.
3 after June 1st
Our Sprout class accommodates learners turning 3 after June 1st. These young scholars will benefit from a play-based program that keeps them moving and engaged. Exploratory lessons happen inside the classroom and outside in nature. We strive to honor a child's natural curiosity and sense of wonder as they form relationships with their peers and the world around them. Thoughtfully constructed lessons adapt to capture the attention and interest of the child on any given day. An emergent curriculum keeps children engaged and cultivates a passion for learning!
4 after June 1st
Our Oak classes are for children 3.5 years and older. In our preschool program, children will continue to learn in a play-based environment, while receiving more challenging one-on-one instruction in the areas of math and literacy to build the skills needed for kindergarten success. Learning happens in the classroom and OUTSIDE as much as possible. Learning here is immersive and sometimes messy, but this is such a great way to learn math, literacy and science. Going beyond learning letters and numbers, our program will develop confidence, logical thinking and creative expression. Your child will thrive, while making friends and learning self-regulation, patience and cooperation. Because we know that kindergarten readiness is so much more than knowing your letters!
Our kindergarten class is for children who are 5 by August 1st and are ready for a gentle transition into more formal learning. At King's Way Preschool, we believe that kindergarten works as a bridge between preschool and a more academic focused education. Students will continue to learn in a play-based environment, taking learning outside as much as possible. Students will work in collaboration on interest-based projects that encourage them to become masters of knowledge and develop a love for learning that will serve them well in the future. In kindergarten, extra attention will be given to early reading and math skills, in accordance with state learning standards.
